Foundation Drawing II

Prerequisites: Drawing I or teacher's permission

Course Description: Drawing II builds upon the techniques and skills learned in Drawing I as projects become more complex.  Imagination and outdoor natural landscapes will be utilized along with in class still-life setups.

Course Schedule -
Week 1: Begin Reductive charcoal value drawing.
Week 2: Complete Reductive charcoal value drawing.
Week 3: Outdoor landscape studies.
Week 4: Begin complex still life of organic and inorganic forms with directional light source.
Week 5: Continue complex still life of organic and inorganic forms with directional light source.
Week 6: Imaginative drawing with implied movement.

One of the most popular aspects of this course is the Homework series portion of the class. Below are samples of the Drawing II Homework Series where each student picks three simple objects to draw every week.  This assignment allows a lot of creativity, experimentation and imagination using techniques and media from Drawing I and Drawing II.
